David B. Mueller Introduces Sunny The Box Turtle

In May of 2004, David B. Mueller noticed a box turtle on the street near his home. Mueller was concerned that the turtle might get run over by a car. Mueller has cared for the turtle ever since. Mueller named the turtle "Sunny" because he has patterns on his shell that look like paintings of the sun. After reading about turtles (actually, Sunny is a tortoise), Mueller determined that Sunny was a male box turtle and is now probably about 14 years old. See a video clip of Sunny from David B. Big Boned BBQ Beef Brisket and Budweiser Pair Up Well

While attending the Rib America Festival in St. Louis on Sunday, David B. Mueller took time to sample one of the offerings from the various food vendors at the event. Mueller, having already consumed pulled pork the previous day at a graduation party, decided to try the BBQ beef brisket from Big Boned BBQ of Chatanooga, Tennesee. Mueller also purchased a cold Budweiser to go with the sandwich. Mueller found the BBQ beef to be reasonably tender. The sauce (Mueller added a bit of what was described as mild sauce to the sandwich although a hotter habenero based sauce was also offered) was tangy and also smoky in flavor. All in all, the sandwich was rather good and it seemed to pair up exceptionally well with a lager style beer such as Budweiser. 

David B. Mueller Enjoys Warm Weather

I live in southwestern Illinois about 10 miles from St. Louis Missouri. After a number of cold snaps hit the region earlier in the Spring, warm weather has finally firmly established itself here. I have been trying to make the most of it and have started riding my bicycle quite often. Perhaps you will see me if you happen to be in the Columbia, Illinois area when I am out for a ride.
